Not surprising that my weight is still "up" after the day of cookie eating yesterday.
Today, I fasted the whole day to get myself grounded again and break the cycle of excess from the last couple of days. I have found that if I take a day to fast, then I can tell my body that I am not dependent on constantly eating, and that I can survive one day without food. Sure, I get hungry, but I am able to overcome it, and put my body in subjection to my mind and my spirit. I did drink plenty of water later in the day.
Speaking of hunger, I think fasting helps me to know what being hungry feels like. Most of the time, I want to eat, but I think I am rarely really hungry. If I let myself eat all of the time, then I never really feel that hunger feeling, and it can be hard to decipher. Fasting takes me through the different feelings and I'm able to distinguish them better.
So next week I'll be out of town at a conference. I'm going to try to OMAD as much as possible. I know I'll be eating a social lunch at least one of the days, so I'll either try to skip dinner that night or just eat really light. I don't want my food to control my life, and I'll be going with a co-worker, so instead of being a hermit and staying in my hotel room I will probably go have dinner with him and just control my portions.
